Looking for a record

Postby Theo » Wed Aug 11, 2010 5:53 pm

I've been hunting for this 78rpm disc for over 18 months now. It seems to be incredibly elusive!

Dorothy Squires - HALFWAY TO HEAVEN (Halfway to Ireland) / JUST LIKE A GRAMOPHONE RECORD Columbia DB 2691 (1950)

I wondered if, perhaps, there may have been an issue in New Zealand, Kirk? Perhaps there may be a copy of that floating around where you are?

Hi Theo,

Sorry, not that I know of - but I've put the word out and a few likely suspects may see your message here. Must be super-elusive too, if the Whirly gang don't have it !

Surely it was a *huge*hit in Ireland :P

Will let you know if anything turn up.

Cheers - Kirk

LOL, yes. But records from countries other than the UK and USA seem rare enough anyway... thanks! :D

Well, it did eventually turn up, and I have a feeling a forum member was to thank!
