1982 Spreadsheet Query

Postby Bassman » Tue Mar 02, 2010 1:25 am

Bert/Kirk

On the spreadsheet you have the B Side for 82_005 Tight Fit - The Lion Sleeps Tonight as "Rhythm, Movement And Throbbing".

I have however inherited a copy of the 7" single and the B Side is "Beep Beep". It's the same catalogue number (Jive 9). I'm not sure if I have an import but Discogs is showing both as UK releases.

Any thoughts?

Tel

I've just ripped it to MP3 so I can upload for you.

Hi Tel,

My understanding is that the version with Beep-Beep on the b-side is a re-issue. The version with Rythm, Movement and Throbbing is etched JIVE-9-A-1 and JIVE-9-B-1 and the Beep Beep version is etched JIVE-9-A-2 and JIVE-9-B5, indicating a later pressing.

Bert

Okay - mine is marked Jive 9A2 as you say - but it's the smallest 2 you'll ever see.

Oh the joys of Record Companies and their catalogue numbering.
