Excel 2010

Postby Glinty » Sat Jan 29, 2011 4:02 pm

Hi,

Has anyone out there tried to run the macro spreadsheet on a 10 inch netbook (screen res 1024 x 600) using Windows 7 and Excel 2010?
I've just tried to do this on a friends new netbook and the bottom part of the screen is not visable so you can't see the work sheet tabs. This does not happen on my netbook which is running Windows XP and Excel 2003 so I suspect it is something to do with Excel 2010.
I've already asked Kirk about this and he does not have Excel 2010 so can't try it out. Has anyone else experienced this and if so have you found a solution.

Cheers
Glinty

Hi Glinty,
Probably nor what you wanted to hear - and maybe not 100% correct but here's how someone answered this on one of the Excel groups -

its not just excel, i got this problem for lego nxt (complete waste of money it stops vb.net from running with it and it just gliches the blue tooth), the solution is
install xp, or if your netbook is beefed up you could use virtual xp on win 7

Hey Glinty, what happens if you double click the menu bar at the top of the screen?

Does it then go into restore mode where you can resize manually and see the whole screen?

Hi Kirk,

I had already asked my mate Dave to try the info in this link http://www.ion.icaew.com/itcounts/19233
which suggests the same as you. He's just got back to me to say that it worked and he can now see the tabs.
Thanks for your help.

Cheers
Glinty
