Lyrics

Postby kirkm » Sun Jan 02, 2011 4:10 am

Greetings...

The next version of the (macro) spreadsheet will contain the lyrics inside the 'backend' mdb file.

However if you wish to continue maintaining a lyrics Folder yourself, just set the (new) checkbox in User Configuration to suit. In effect this will ignore the backend and continue the import, editing and lyrics display just as it does now.

If you opt to use the backend all Britburn lyric files and folders can be deleted. Each new spreadsheet will contain existing (and new) lyrics. You can still edit them but adding new ones won't be (easily) possible. I don't think this happens much anyway (and they couldn't be distributed around the group). No one has, AFAIK, contributed any lyrics but the offers always open via the Forum.

Unless requested, the minilyrics .lrc files will be phased out. This was a karioake type display that I don't think was ever used.

Cheers - Kirk

How do I change the position of where the lyrics window opens?
It also opens too low, hiding a bit of the window.

Hi Boro,

What screen resolution are you running ? The recommended is 1280 x 1024. The following settings will reposition the Lyrics Form to fit better:

1024x600
1024x768
1280x800
1280x768

Your resolution can be added, if you like :D

Or, if you want to have a play yourself, Open Module 3 and find Select Case sSize.
Add Case = Your Resolution and set new Top and Left values for frmLyrics.

By default the Main Control Form is centered and it's height is 273.
Lyrics sits directly under that and it's height is 179.

Cheers - Kirk

Hi Kirk,

Thanks for that information. My res. is 1600x900, I've edited the module and now my lyrics window sits nicely below my Label window.
What value would I edit to make the lyrics window a bit taller?

Regards,
Steve.

Hi Steve,

That's a bit more complicated because there's Lyrics Form Height to alter first, then the label height and the scrolling. Also a second label is used for editing.

Then some settings are applied to the controls at design time, and others at run time.
The control name is frmLyrics.

If you still want to change it, have a go and I'll help where I can.

Cheers - Kirk

Hi Steve,

Stand by, I'll sort it out! There's just so much on the go at the moment and I'm probably just getting lazy with age!

What percentage increase would you like?

Hi Kirk,

Just a small amount, about 5% or 10%.

Regards,
Steve
