Virgin Book Of Hit Singles

Postby ukcharts » Mon Feb 09, 2009 2:54 am

Wandering through a closed shopping centre this afternoon I came across a copy of the Virgin Book Of Hit Singles sitting in a window.

Does anyone know if this a newly sponsored variation on the Guinness books, or something entirely different?

Hi Bert,

It looks like it is meant to be a replacement for Guinness. You can find it on Amazon for £13 but have a read of the reviews on there, the people who've bought it don't seem to like it. Maybe they are so used to Guinness that nothing else will match up to it.

Cheers

It is a new version of the Guiness style. However, the data listed is as follows - they list every record to make the Top 75, but gives weeks ONLY for Top 40 weeks. They also sometimes give DOWNLOAD as the catnumber or a CATCO number instead of an ISRC. I don't own the book and few who have seen it like it.

Thanks for the comments, I had a quick glance at it myself on Saturday and it seems I can do without it for the time being.
